Rangel’s LiberalForum.org –a popular web-based political community with thousands of members and millions of hits –is hosting its “Gnikhsub SEO Contest” competition that invites webmasters, SEO experts and bloggers to compete for a top position in Google’s search engine for the made up keyword “Gnikhsub.”

Like most SEO contests, it’s hoped the competition will provide the tech community with a better understanding of how the engine’s algorithm works and how to rank higher for competitive keywords –an essential for success online.

However, Rangel notes “what makes this contest drastically different is that it has a social- and politically-themed objective. It seeks to mobilize the liberal blogosphere to disseminate a unified political message –‘impeach President George Bush.’”

Each contestant’s website or blog must provide factual information that addresses the grounds for President Bush’s impeachment, and it must link back to LiberalForum.org –where the issue can be debated publicly.

The prize for first place is $400, $100 for second and $50 for third place. The contest officially starts on September 21, 2006, and the winning sites will be determined on January 21, 2007 at 12:00 PM, EST.
