Estes Park, Colorado (PRWEB) September 16, 2006 -- Elk Fest is the Super Bowl for Colorado wildlife and it’s in Estes Park, Colorado on the weekend of September 30 and Oct 1, 2006. When the chill of the late afternoon gives in to long shadows covering the valley floor of Rocky Mountain National Park, nature’s grandest wildlife spectacle begins…the Elk Rut.

A bull from the forest edge trumpets a challenge to his opponent who frantically guards his harem by circling his herd, anticipating a duel that’s marked by crashing antlers. Exciting education events will be offered by a Rocky Mountain National Park naturalist, as well as park rangers from the Division of Wildlife Colorado. Learn the art of elk bugling for a closer shot…with your camera.

The town of Estes Park goes all out with: restaurants offering game meat entrées, mountain man skills and craft events, archery contests, and storytelling. The town “Elk Alert System” almost guarantees the shuttle tour riders of seeing elk herds in the Estes Park Valley. The Town is also sponsoring a 3.7K run/walk around Lake Estes on Saturday morning called the “Running of the Bulls.” Romantic RiverSong Inn http://www.romanticriversong.com is pleased to offer our” Wildlife Lovers Package” that includes a massage for two, fireside candlelight dinner for two in the inn’s own dining room, a photography hike and picnic box lunch with RiverSong staff in near-by Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday morning to capture the magnificent Colorado wildlife on film. The package is just $295.00 per couple.

Note: This package does not include accommodations and entrance fee to the park.
