Spirit of Elijah Dual CD release

The Spirit of Elijah is releasing two CDs, a rock opera "The Test of Job," and a best of CD.

Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) September 16, 2006 -- The Des Moines based Christian rock band Spirit of Elijah has released two new CD’s in September. “The Test of Job” is a rock opera based on the Book of Job, and has songs that range from almost hard rock to softer contemporary sounds.

The song “My Friends” is entered in the ongoing contest at garageband.com and is climbing the charts.

The other CD is a best of CD covering the band’s work since its inception in 2000. This is a good overview of their material, from the soft to loud.

Spirit of Elijah’s founder, Bill Hamilton describes the band as making, “serious music that is occasionally funny” and said, “we are trying to bring more mainstream rock into the Christian arena, the average Christian rock band is either contemporary, or screaming its head off to head banging music. I’m not saying there isn’t a place for those kinds of bands, just that a band more in the center would have wider appeal. I have been saved for about ten years now and I haven’t found many bands I like. I’m trying to fill the void, and I hope other bands join us.”
