Venice, CA (PRWEB) September 18, 2006 -- The Pixel Awards announced their 2006 nominees today. The inaugural year of the web awards competition has proven to be a tremendous success with hundreds of top-notch submissions.

The Top 5 nominees were named in each award category, including Commerce, Geek, Non-Profit, Personal, and Vegetarian. A full list of nominees and categories can be found at The Pixel Awards website (www.pixelawards.com).

Agencies like Big Spaceship, The Chopping Block, DNA Studio, Juxt Interactive, Ignited Minds, PUSH, and Refinery came out in full force while smaller shops like Design Snack, wefail, Monkeehub, and FrostDesign also received nods. As the judging process gets underway, the competition will be fierce.
