Anti Death Penalty Network Pledges to Keep Up the Struggle

West Hartford, CT (PRWEB) September 17, 2006 -- At 2:25 a.m., May 13, 2005, serial killer Michael Ross was pronounced dead. It was a devastating blow to the efforts of the Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty (CNADP), and some were wondering if they could continue their work. Those feelings soon evaporated.
“The work is too important to allow our personal sadness and frustration stop us from carrying on with this important effort,” Robert Nave, Executive Director, CNADP, says. ‘In many ways, Ross’s execution brought us closer together and made us stronger and more energized to continue the struggle to abolish the death penalty in Connecticut. It awakened the entire state, and our increased membership is just one indication of our renewed energy.”
This energy and renewed pledge of commitment was on display at CNADP’s Annual Meeting in West Hartford on September 14, when the group unveiled its new logo.
“The new logo is designed to send a message of hope,” Kay Green, President, Green Graphic Design, says of her work. “The flame over the ‘I’ indicates that the people working to abolish the death penalty are hopeful that soon their mission will be completed.”
The Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty (CNADP) has been working to abolish the death penalty in Connecticut since 1986. We stand strongly opposed to the death penalty as it is POOR PUBLIC POLICY. The death penalty does not deter crime, it is not cost efficient, it kills the mentally ill, it is economically and racially biased, it kills the innocent, and it does not provide closure to families - it is simply revenge, not justice.
Kay Green, President, founded Green Graphic Design in Seattle, Wash., in 1998, and relocated the business to Avon, Conn., in 2003. Green Graphic Design is the design and production arm of L&G Business Solutions, LLC. With 19 years experience in graphic design, Kay’s clients include retail outlets, manufacturers, mail order businesses, colleges, business consultants and book publishers. Design projects include brand identity, ads, fliers, pamphlets, newsletters, books and catalogs.
