The Boston Architectural College (BAC), one of the nation’s largest, independent multi-disciplinary design colleges, located in Boston’s Back Bay, recently overhauled its website, http://www.the-bac.edu. The College worked with Pixel Bridge to design and develop the new online presence.

The online initiative was an integral part of an organizational re-branding effort. Known since the 1880’s as the “Boston Architectural Center", the institution transitioned this summer to the “Boston Architectural College". President Theodore Landsmark recognized the evolution in recent commentary: “This is a joyous time for our students, faculty, alumni, staff, and dedicated supporters to come together to celebrate the accomplishments of the Center as the foundation of our wider recognition as a College.”

The new website promotes the evolved identity of the BAC, celebrates the name change, and effectively communicates key marketing messages. While the re-naming initiative was the driving force behind the new website design, the project team used this opportunity to also re-architect the site to enhance usability for important target audiences.

The new website also features comprehensive content management functionality, powered by Ingeniux. Committed to maintaining a robust, fresh, and consistently relevant website, the-bac.edu has dozens of regular contributors throughout the organization, and the new system allows them to easily edit and add content on the site.

“We’ve been working with the BAC for several years and are constantly impressed with the institution’s commitment to using the Internet strategically,” say Tim Bourgeois, CEO of Pixel Bridge. “The BAC really gets it when it comes to the Web, and we feel fortunate to have such a strong working partnership with the organization.”

“Pixel Bridge has delivered a range of valuable interactive services to us over the years, including creative design, Web development, and Internet marketing expertise,” says Janet Oberto, Director of Communications & Public Affairs at the BAC. “We consider Pixel Bridge a strategic partner and place enormous value on our long-term relationship with the firm.”
