Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) September 19, 2006
CARE, North Shore Animal League America, Bread for the World, and Human Rights Campaign were honored by their peers as "Superstars" in online communications at GetTogether 2006, the third annual user conference hosted by GetActive Software, a leader in online constituent relationship management services that help nonprofits use the Internet to raise funds, conduct advocacy campaigns, and build community.
More than 300 GetActive clients and partners gathered in Baltimore September 14–15, 2006 to share best practices in online engagement at GetActive’s third annual user conference, keynoted by Seth Godin, bestselling author, entrepreneur, renowned speaker, and agent of change, who spoke on "Flipping the Funnel: How nonprofits can use the Internet to change the game and spread the word." GetTogether 2006 also included an additional day of hands-on training for clients on GetActive’s web-based suite of software solutions.
GetActive created the annual Superstar awards to recognize client organizations that exhibit outstanding achievement using GetActive’s constituent relationship management (eCRM) and content management system (CMS) tools. Award categories included best recurring e-newsletter, most innovative online fundraising campaign, most innovative online advocacy campaign, best website using GetActive's Website Management module, and most innovative viral list growth campaign. Clients nominate themselves and vote to select the winners.
This year’s honorees are CARE for its e-newsletter, CARE Connections; North Shore Animal League America for both its online fundraising and advocacy campaigns; Bread for the World for its website, http://www.bread.org, using GetActive’s Website Management module; and Human Rights Campaign for its viral list growth campaign.
The Superstar Awards announcement and reception straddled two days of workshops presented by GetActive nonprofit clients and strategic partners on topics including Engaging Your Audience with Personalized Content; How to Communicate Effectively with the Hill; Website Management and Best Practices for Success; Integrating Your Offline System with GetActive; Evaluating Online Metrics and Reporting to Determine Campaign Success; Using Advocacy to Engage Your Activists; and Caring for Your Constituency: Growing and Engaging List Members, among others.
"Our annual user conference provides a face-to-face forum for our community of clients and partners to exchange ideas and share strategies for being more effective in mobilizing constituents for advocacy and fundraising," said GetActive CEO Sheeraz Haji. "GetTogether also provides us an opportunity to learn how we can better serve the online needs of the nonprofit sector."
