Fantasy Football Documentary Film Production to Run Throughout NFL 2006 Season

In their new film “10 YARDS”, award winning documentary filmmakers set out to chart the phenomenal history and evolution of fantasy football through their own personal sports journey.

DENVER, CO (PRWEB) September 21, 2006 -- Spinning Blue, producers of the indie documentary and film festival hit “10 MPH,” today announced the start of production on its second feature film, “10 YARDS,” a documentary that will delve into the modern phenomenon, fantasy football. To create a truly participatory experience, the film’s production will be virtually simulcast through a dynamic online experience, including weekly filmmaker podcasts, previews of “10 YARDS” footage and a daily blog at www.10yardsmovie.com.

The production of “10 YARDS” has generated interest with several potential nationally-branded sponsors who will be announced in the coming weeks. CBS SportsLine, one of the major providers of Fantasy sports services has signed on as the premier promotional sponsor of the “10 YARDS” production.

“Fantasy Football has really exploded into mainstream culture,” said Hunter Weeks, “10 YARDS” director and producer. “Its popularity combined with the success of “10 MPH” makes this the perfect time for us to make a film about it. We’re thrilled with the interest and support we’re getting from various sources, like CBS SportsLine.”

Throughout the course of the football season, filmmakers Hunter Weeks and Josh Caldwell will be traveling to New York, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, L.A., San Francisco, Birmingham, Ala., Washington DC, Miami and Seattle on an aggressive production schedule during which they will film various fantasy leagues, NFL players and officials, celebrities and more – all while playing the game themselves.

“10 YARDS” is the second feature film for Spinning Blue. Their first film, “10 MPH” (www.10mph.com), is a comical yet poignant documentary that follows aspiring filmmakers Josh Caldwell and Hunter Weeks as they quit their corporate jobs and travel from Seattle to Boston on a Segway scooter. “10 MPH” is having tremendous success on the film festival circuit claiming multiple awards and consistently selling out screenings. A distribution deal is in the works.
