Detroit, MI (PRWEB) September 22, 2006 -- The Rev. Dr. Steven M. Eggers’ is portrayed in two different books, one a story of his battle with colon cancer, the other a supernatural murder mystery. Before his death, he and his wife established the Rev. Dr. Steve M. Eggers Scholarship Fund.
In her new book, "Dying Body, Growing Faith," author Sandra Eggers tells the inspirational and true story of how her husband, the Rev. Dr. Steve Eggers, struggled against Stage IV colon cancer. Based on e-mails sent to family and friends during their more than two-year battle, these “SteveUpdates” did more than chronicle the Eggers’ cancer journey for their 80 recipients. The Eggers also shared with them what they were learning about living, so their friends and family could apply it in their own lives.
A member of the last church Eggers served, Hosanna-Tabor Lutheran in Redford, Mich., author Jason Barnes weaves a terrifying tale in his book "He Watches" of teenager Jason Scottsdale whose evil doppelganger is committing the murders Jason is suspected of doing. Eggers’ character is this teenager’s pastor. He Watches is based on nightmares author Barnes endured for more than two years when he himself was a teen.
Authors Eggers and Barnes will be discussing their perspectives of Eggers as viewed through their books and then participating in a joint book signing. A portion of the proceeds from this book signing will be donated to The Rev. Dr. Steve M.
