Special Showing of Invisible Children at Blaine School in Seattle
Seattle-area screening of the documentary Invisible Children on October 27, 2006
Local citizens who have been to Uganda will host the screening and answer audience questions.
(PRWEB) September 22, 2006 -- You are invited to a special screening of the documentary Invisible Children on:
Friday October 27, 2006 7 p.m.
Blaine School Auditorium
2550 34th Avenue West
Seattle, WA 98199
This screening is sponsored by several families (and young people) in the Seattle community who have been to Uganda in the past several years.
This film documents the crisis affecting children in northern Uganda. The film has sparked an international movement to resolve Africa's longest-running and costliest war.
This movement has had enormous success in recent months. Thousands of American teenagers and college students deserve credit for making this happen - you will get a chance to meet some local people involved (and learn about others) at this special screening that you don't want to miss, said local coordinator Scott Cummins.
Locally, over 1,500 students (Ballard High School, Seattle Pacific University, University of Washington among others) have each devoted twenty or more hours of volunteer time to Invisible Children.
For more information, and for an online link parents can use to pre-screen the video (running time 59 minutes), contact Seattle-area IC coordinator Scott Cummins via e-mail.
