Heroes of the Nation Founder Andrew Sievright Believes “Children Are The Future of Their Nations;” Organization Helps Give African Orphans a Home, Education and Future

Kenya, Africa (PRWEB) September 23, 2006 -- Hundreds of African orphans now have a home, an education and a future thanks to the work of an organization known as Heroes of the Nation (www.htn.org) and its founder and president, Andrew Sievright.
Sievright believes that “children are the future of their nations – the hope of generations to come. But what kind of a future will these defenseless, dependent and forsaken children have without the help of those who have been given much?”
Heroes of the Nation is a movement which strives to rescue and give a home, medical aid and vital schooling to the orphans of Africa, according to Sievright. Headquartered in Kenya, Heroes of the Nation has three orphanages in East Africa, and more than 370 orphans now have a home, education and a future because of Heroes of the Nation.
Heroes of the Nation goes far beyond physical necessities. The organization seeks to train orphans to become leaders, or “Heroes,” of their nation in whatever career field they choose, Sievright said. The organization is currently building more orphanages throughout Africa which will house 1,000 orphans. The ultimate goal is to provide loving homes and leadership training to 100,000 on the African continent, he said.
Sievright would like the most fortunate citizens of the global community to consider these facts:
· Fifty-one percent of the people on earth are children.
· One billion of these children live in abject poverty and their families live on less than $1 per day.
· More than 17 million children will starve to death this year.
· Every 14 seconds, a child loses his or her parents to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
· One hundred fifty million children live on the streets because of poverty, neglect and abuse.
· More than 250 million children under the age of 14 work to support their families. They are often sold for $1 and forced into slavery or bonded labor.
· Ten million children are being sexually exploited.
Heroes of the Nation impacts the orphans of this generation so that impoverished nations can do more than just survive, according to Sievright. “The children thrive and are transformed as they seek to become leaders for the generations to come,” he said. “To witness this work first-hand is remarkable, and to see the Heroes of the Nation children with beaming faces singing with hope and purpose is gratifying.”
Sievright travels regularly from his Southern California home to the Heroes of the Nation centers in Africa to visit “his” children and 35 staff, and works regularly with other organizations serving at-risk children to find large-scale solutions for orphans around the world.
Heroes of the Nations invites compassionate individuals to join them as partners to impact the orphans of Africa. For more information, contact Heroes of the Nation at 530-242-0220 or visit www.htn.org.
