Thriller author Jon F. Merz will pen a free serialized novella The Courier on his MySpace.com page located at http://www.myspace.com/lawsonvampire beginning Monday, October 2nd and continuing through October with a climax on Halloween. Merz, the author of the critically-acclaimed Lawson Vampire series of novels, will write a special "mini-mission" - an approximately 40,000-word supernatural hard-boiled noir adventure. MySpace users who wish to read the adventure only need add Merz's Lawson Page (http://www.myspace.com/lawsonvampire) to their Friends list and they will then get access to the entire story as it is posted.
Merz's character Lawson is an elite member of a vampiric race that evolved alongside humanity, known as a Fixer. His job is to protect the secret existence of vampires by acting as judge, jury, and executioner for rogue elements of his society. His past adventures have taken him from Boston to the Himalayas and everywhere in between as he chases down conspirators, kidnappers, power-hungry sociopaths, drug runners, and more.
"MySpace.com is a terrific site filled with 111 million amazing people. I'm thrilled to bring Lawson to a new demographic of readers and fans. MySpace.com is unique and the opportunity for immediate feedback from readers is unrivaled. As a writer, I'm constantly looking to expand my readership by exploring ways that traditional publishing ignores. MySpace has been great to work with - they've pushed news of the story on several places throughout the site resulting in a flood of interested readers. I can't wait to see how this all turns out."
