AFA Awards ‘Lifetime’ Alumni Club Memberships To All Semi-Pro Football Hall Of Famers

This month a number of major companies are conducting their annual Employee Charities of Choice Campaigns. This is an excellent time to designate the AFA to receive a portion of your pledged gifts. Just enter the following: American Football Association Inc; P.O. Box 2400, Sarasota, FL 34230

(PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- In an effort to jump-start the American Football Association’s Semi-Pro Football Alumni Clubs of America membership program, the AFA Board of Directors recently awarded ‘Life-Time’ membership privileges to every AFA Hall of Famer that has been enshrined into the AFA/HOF in the past 26 years. Since its inception in 1980 the AFA has enshrined 527 deserving semi-pro footballers into its prestigious brotherhood of football ‘Legends.’

While the Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame fraternity is limited to inducting individuals on an average of about 25 per year - there are literally thousands and thousands of former (as well as active) semi-pro’ers qualified for Semi-Pro Football Alumni activities. Joining one of the AFA Alumni Club groups now forming will keep those former footballers in the semi-pro loop year after year. Semi-pro historians attest to the fact that there could be as many as a half million former players, coaches, trainers, equipment managers, officials and team/league administrators (still walking, talking and chewing gum) across the country that at one time or another were active on the semi-pro football level. The AFA is dedicated to finding as many of those former footballers as possible and directing them to reunite with their former teammates through membership in Team, State and Regional Semi-Pro Football Alumni Clubs.

Individual AFA Alumni Club membership applications are available by contacting the AFA National Office via E-mail at AFAalumni@aol.com. A PDF file of the membership application and an explanation of benefits along with a colorful Semi-Pro Football Alumni Club (Jostens superbowl size) ring order form will be sent to you by return e-mail. Alumni Club rings come in 7 different stone colors and 3 price ranges. Individual memberships into the Alumni Club are available for an $25 annual donation.

Individual members will be automatically assigned to State Alumni Chapters at no additional fee. The AFA is a 501(c)(3)non-profit corporation and all donations are tax deductible within the limit of the law. The first 100 footballers to join during the month of September will receive a FREE AFA Alumni Club lapel pin valued at $5.

This month a number of major companies are conducting their annual Employee Charities of Choice Campaigns. Usually you are asked to donate based on a weekly payroll deductions and also are allowed to designate both approved charity/agencies and/or other legally recognized charities to receive your pledged gifts. This is an excellent time to designate the AFA to receive a portion of your pledged gifts. Just enter the following: American Football Association Inc; P.O. Box 2400, Sarasota, FL 34230

AFA Alumni Team Charters are now available to those who already have organized team alumni clubs or those who would like to do a little research digging up location information on old coaches and teammates.

TEAM ALUMNI CHAPTERS:
Membership into a registered AFA Team Alumni program is open to any individual who was ever associated (or still is) with a local semi-pro football program - as a player, coach, team administrator, etc., (even fans). . . and is willing to abide by the membership rules of their local chapter. To become a fully vested TEAM CHAPTER, the local program must have at least 25 dues paying members registered each year with the AFA Semi-Pro Football Alumni Club National Association. Annual TEAM CHARTER membership qualifications must be established before organization delegates are extended voting rights and/or are allowed to nominate candidates for the annual AFA Hall of Fame induction selection process.

STATE ALUMNI CHARTERS:
State ‘Charters’ may be issued when 10 or more Team Chapters are registered in a state. State Charters may also be issued when less than 10 team alumni organization exist in one state - but the total number of individual AFA Alumni Club memberships is sufficient in numbers to satisfy the AFA’s requirement to issue a ‘temporary’ State Charter.

REGIONAL ALUMNI CHARTERS:
Regional ‘Charters’ may be issued when 20 or more Team Chapters in a specific regional area request special consideration for the chapters they represent and have team chapters in a regional area or in multiple states. (i.e. Mid-west regional, Western Pennsylvania, Up-State New York, Chicagoland, Southern California, Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, Gulf Coast, etc., etc. Registered Regional Charters will be allowed additional convention ‘delegates’ depending on the number of total active members credited to their regional area membership program in a given year.

The AFA’s Semi-Pro Football Alumni Clubs of America will host a national convention in Florida this winter at which time Alumni Club representatives will nominate members of their organizations for recognition and possible selection into the Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame - Class of 2007.
