Finding The Best China Business Blogs

Blogs on China business issues have multiplied rapidly, but finding the best ones can be difficult. However a new list of the "Best Blogs About Business in China" helps to show the way, while Jeremy Gordon, author of the China Business Blog, explains the role of peer recommendations and site ranking services.

(PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- Blogs have become an important source of business information in China, according to Jeremy Gordon, Chief Executive of consultancy China Business Services, and author of the China Business Blog. He notes that, "they often identify stories before they hit the mainstream international media, and can provide rapid and interesting perspectives on a range of issues."

In addition to being a good news source, blogs often have a tight focus on specific functions and sectors. From the reader's perspective they are also convenient, as blog aggregators can be used to manage multiple sources.

There are many blogs to choose from, but Know More Media's PanAsianBiz blog (http://www.panasianbiz.com), has usefully published a list of the "12 Best Blogs About Business in China."

In addition to the China Business Blog (http://www.chinabusinessservices.com/blog), other top blogs included China Law Blog (http://www.chinalawblog.com), China Confidential (http://www.chinaconfidential.blogspot.com), China Solved (http://www.chinasolved.com/blog) and the China Economic Review Blog (http://www.chinaeconomicreview.com/editors).

Such lists are helpful, as the ongoing challenge lies in knowing which blogs to rely on. Gordon, says that "peer recommendations are a good guide, as are rankings from the likes of Alexa and Technorati."

- A main source of peer recommendations are the "blogrolls" that often appear on sites, and which show the main blogs that are read by the author.

- Technorati (http://www.technorati.com) ranks blogs by the number of in-bound links from other blogs.

- Alexa (http://www.alexa.com) ranks websites based on a combination of page views and reader numbers.

Gordon's China Business Blog started in its current form a year ago, with the aim of "putting China business news in context" for busy executives. The blog includes coverage of strategy, risk, policy, corporate and other China-related news.

As well as its top-five listing from PanAsianBiz the China Business Blog has climbed rapidly up the Alexa rankings, and is now among the top 200,000 websites in the world, while it has over 100 in-bound links listed on Technorati.

The China Business Blog can be found at http://www.chinabusinessservices.com/blog. Jeremy Gordon, the author, is Chief Executive of China Business Services Limited, an independent, research-driven consultancy that uses expert local resources to deliver consolidated solutions to international companies in China.
