Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. Brings Trailer of New Feature Film -- "Jonestown" -- to Life on The "Silver Screen"

Seventh Arts Releasing, Hollywood, CA, will soon begin to distribute a new feature film, "Jonestown", which is a documentary covering the mass suicide of 909 people that was committed at the "People's Temple" in Jonestown, Guyana, in 1978. Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. was selected to convert the movie's trailer from video to motion picture film, so that prints will be screened in theaters, as part of the distributor's advertising campaign.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- Seventh Arts Releasing (Hollywood, CA) will soon begin to distribute a new feature film, entitled "Jonestown", which is a documentary that relives a shocking event in modern history. Some of us remember the horrific event, that took place back in November 1978, when a mass suicide of 909 people was committed at the "People's Temple" in Jonestown, Guyana. A cult of free-spirited people, faithfully following their leader, Jim Jones, took their lives by drinking a deadly concoction.

As part of the film's distribution, Seventh Arts produced a trailer to promote the release of "Jonestown". Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. was contacted and asked to convert the trailer to motion picture film format. The trailer was produced and edited using new digital video technology, on a digital video editing system. The Hollywood distributor chose Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. to realize their vision of the movie's trailer, in 35mm film. This process of realization is known as a "DV To Film" transfer of digital video to motion picture prints.

Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. completed the transfer at its San Diego facility and using various service firms in Hollywood, CA. The transfer process is as follows: Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. post-produces a 35mm negative of the master videotape at its San Diego facility. Then the negative is sent to a motion picture lab, where the film is developed. Next, audio is recorded to film and sent back to the film lab, then the picture’s final color adjustments are made, and the final 35mm print is composited together.

Durrenberger Engineering, Inc. (DFRFX) has been producing DV To Film transfers for over five years. The firm has transferred several feature films which have been distributed in Europe, USA and Mexico, movie commercials for clients such as State Farm Insurance, as well as many short films that have been screened in festivals such as the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. In addition, the firm has produced movie trailers for films such as "Word Wars" (Seventh Arts Releasing), "Stuey" (Starring Michael Imperioli) and "Unspeakable" (Starring Dennis Hopper).
