Conservationist Worldwide Mourn The Tragic Death of WWF Members

The Serval Conservation Organization sends their condolescenes to the World Wildlife Fund.

Mena, AR (PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- The Serval Conservation Organization (TSCO) are deeply saddened of the recent lost of several staff members of the World Wildlife Fund. It was reported by the Nepal office, seven WWF staff members along with important partners in conservation work have died in a helicopter crash.

The WWF staff members and partners were returning from an inauguration ceremony and conservation site in Kangchenjunga, near the border with India.

The Kangchenjunga Conservation Area, launched in 1998, is designed to conserve threatened wildlife species such as the snow leopard and the red panda.

The Snow Leopard Conservancy estimate between 4,500 and 7,500 remain in the wild in 12 countries in Central Asia. The snow leopard's main enemy is humans. Encroachment on their habitats by human development, being hunted for their pelts is forcing the snow leopard into extinction.

TSCO praises the WWF for the long and hard work they have done in preserving the Snow Leopard.

Our hearts go out to their families and to the WWF at this time of profound loss.
