Brainy but Lost on the Web?
Despite attracting the smartest surfers, a change in web location left most of the brains lost on the internet when searching for Dave's Logic Puzzles.
(PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- A change in web address seems to have left the smartest and brightest people on the web, lost and clueless. Dave's Logic Puzzles, started in 1999, soon became a big hit among puzzle enthusiasts. High school math teachers were steering their students to the site. One school for the gifted listed Dave's Logic Puzzles as one of only two sites they recommended. In 2004, however, things changed. The site was moved from aol to dfcurran.com. A study at the time showed that only 10% of the people who visited the aol site, actually transferred to the new site. Now, many of the blogs recommending the puzzles still link to the old members.aol.com address which is no longer valid. And from the decrease in visits, it's apparent that the brains can't figure out where the site has gone.
The site, created by Dave Curran, includes links to an indepth discussion of how to create logic puzzles to sell to logic puzzles magazine. Curran even created his own puzzle solving software to verify that solutions are in fact valid.
