Mani-CURES for the CURE

Local entrepreneur is helping bring awareness to breast cancer and doing his part to raise funds for breast cancer in a unique way.

Virginia Beach, VA (PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- Russell Peden, owner of the Natural Nail Care Clinic of Virginia Beach and his staff gearing up for a month-long fundraising effort to honor several of their clients who are breast cancer survivors and to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the fight against breast cancer. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 182,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year (one every three minutes) and 43,300 will succumb to the disease (one every twelve minutes).

Says Peden, “We came up with the idea after talking with one of our clients whose mother recently died of breast cancer. We then found out we have several clients who are breast cancer survivors. Their stories inspired us to help get the word out about.”

During the month of October, the Natural Nail Care Clinic through its “PINK OCTOBER” promotion is giving its clients and employees the opportunity to donate to the Foundation. Each week in October, the Natural Nail Care Clinic is sponsoring a different breast cancer awareness campaign.

October 2-7 “Pink for the Cure” Week
October 9-14 “Dip for the Cure”
October 17th “Mani-CURES for the Cure” Fundraising Event
October 23-28 “Pink October” Week

Peden will donate $1 for every PINK manicure, pedicure and PINK nail polish purchased during the “Pink for the Cure” promotion. The Natural Nail Care Clinic will also donate 100% of the proceeds of their Paraffin Wax Treatments to the Foundation for their “Dip for the Cure” week.

On Tuesday October 17 the Natural Nail Care Clinic is hosting fundraiser called “mani-CURES for the CURE.” Peden and his staff are donating 100% of the proceeds from the evening to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition, clients who spend $50 or more during the Clinic’s “Pink October” promotion will receive a free gift, and Peden will donate 10% of their sale to the Foundation

Recognizing that every part of the body needs an ongoing healthy care program and the hands and nails are no exception. The Clinic offers a 4 Part Program for the care of the hands and nails individually designed for each client's specific requirements.
