RealEstateVoices Launches Social News Site For Real Estate Community

RealEstateVoices.com today launched a social news web site for the real estate community, allowing users to vote on their favorite stories. The most popular stories receive the most prominent display on the site's front page.

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- RealEstateVoices.com today launched a social news web site for the real estate community, allowing users to vote on their favorite stories. The most popular stories receive the most prominent display on the site's front page.

RealEstateVoices.com is a news site whereby users suggest real estate-related articles from blogs, newspapers, trade publications and other corners of the web. Other members of the community then vote on the stories, which determine their position on the front page.

Readers are able to get a quick and accurate look at the most interesting stories of the day by either visiting the site at www.realestatevoices.com or subscribing to RealEstateVoices RSS feed.

Social news sites were initially made popular by technology-focused properties like Digg and Reddit and are now expanding into other vertical markets. RealEstateVoices takes advantage of open source software, Pligg, to power its real estate focused news community.

Homethinking, an Internet company that helps home owners find a real estate agent, developed the site and is the corporate sponsor. "We launched RealEstateVoices with the intention of giving authors in the real estate community a platform to promote their good work and readers, like ourselves, the ability to discover new and interesting stories," said Niki Scevak, founder of Homethinking.

The site will initially be enlivened by a small band of community leaders that include Joel Burslem who authors the "Future of Real Estate Marketing" blog, Mike Simonsen of Altos Research and Rob Melton of the blog "Pittsburgh Homes Daily".

"Real estate is in the middle of an Internet renaissance -- more information is getting to more consumers faster and more clearly than ever before," said Mike Simonsen, founder of Altos Research "As a community-driven site, RealEstateVoices.com is great resource for consumers to find and filter the best information every day."
