Golf Networking Taken to The Next Level

An online community of golfers from around the world who are interested in expanding their circle of friends and golf partners.

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) September 28, 2006

To find a congenial golfing partner, there’s a new way that beats being assigned strangers at the first tee.

It’s called teetimefriends.com.

Described as “an online community of golfers from around the world who are interested in expanding their circle of friends and golf partners,” the new organization can be joined online in minutes. Then, as the site explains:

“We give you the ability to search pictures and profiles of men, women, couples and groups from all over the world. You just type in your zip code and search for your new ‘Tee Time Friend’”

TTF points out that membership gives golfers the opportunity of choosing their own partner instead of being assigned a random partner by the golf pro.

The idea for the new service came when TTF’s sponsors found it difficult to contact others who shared the same passion for golf.

One member described planning a trip across country to Arizona. With the new service, “After making contacts with several people via chat rooms and email on teetimefriends.com,” he wrote, “I met up with my new Tee Time Friend and was able to enjoy my trip.”

Members also can book an online tee time, shop in TTF’s store, view the message board, and write in the organization’s blog.

To start, the service offers free posting of a new member’s profile, along with a free photo. Considerably more is available with a regular paid membership. Memberships are

broken down into payments so it’s affordable for everyone.

And memberships can be sent as a gift to a golfer, thus “giving the gift of an unlimited community of golfers who share the same passion,” according to the service. Gifts also, says the organization, are excellent for someone who wants to learn golf but needs “that extra push to get out and find a partner.” A gift also that makes an impact on someone just graduating from high school of college, or is ideal for couples who love to travel and meet up with golfers like themselves, or as a corporate gift incentive. For someone who travels a lot on business, “giving a subscription to TTF will show them that you truly want them to reap all the benefits that they can while away from their friends and family at home” says the organization.

Teetimefriends.com has a blog with useful ideas, such as asking the golf course if it is next to an airport – a question contributed by one member who played as student pilots were taking off and landing just overhead during the entire round. “It’s as bad as a mosquito buzzing around in your ear but one you can’t swat away,” the golfer reported.

Perhaps the most poignant and true-to-life statement in the blog begins, “I can’t tell you how many times I have gone out to the golf course with someone I wanted to spend time alone with, and when getting to the starter he says, ‘Mr. So and So will be joining you today.’”
