What:   Girls Night Out: Paint for the Cure!

Our regular monthly Girls’ Night Out has a special focus in October: We’re Paintin’ for the Cure! Guests will enjoy free pizza and soft drinks as they help paint Pink Ribbons to decorate the trophies for the annual Komen Central Georgia Race for the Cure® held on October 28, 2006. While there, the “girls” can also paint a commemorative Survivors’ Tile, buy handmade Pink Ribbon jewelry, paint a project for themselves, or one to donate to the MarketPlace fundraising venue at the Race for the Cure.

What:    Race for the Cure: Photo Finish

Exhibit Opening, Photography by Lynne Barta and Friends
This extraordinary collection features images of strength, determination and triumph from the Finish Line of the 2005 Komen Central Georgia Race For The Cure® and the 2006 Komen Central Georgia Cycle for the Cure™. Refreshments will be served.

Photographs will remain on exhibit through October 31, 2006

When: Saturday, October 14, 2006; 6:00 pm -9:00 pm

What:    Celebration of Life: An Evening for Survivors and Co-Survivors

Guests will enjoy free refreshments, and receive a free Pink Ribbon pin or magnet to paint. The evening’s special project is a ceramic “Pink Ribbon Survivors’ Tile” which you’ll paint and personalize yourself. This is a way to for all of us to recognize the Survivors in our lives.

Paintin’ and Kiln’ Time will display these tiles throughout the month of October to honor survivors and remember those who have lost their battle.

Our Year-Round Commitment to the Cure
Paintin’ and Kiln’ Time partners with the Komen Central Georgia Race for the Cure® to present handmade ceramic trophies to the race winners. We also donate painted items to the "Bunko for Breast Cancer" event held in February to benefit the Central GA Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We supply handmade ceramic trophies to the Ladies Pink Ribbon Golf Classic held every April at Healy Point Country Club. The proceeds from this event go to the American Cancer Society, not only for breast cancer research but also for education and assistance right here in our own community.

Our Mission
The mission of Paintin' and Kiln' Time is to provide a fun experience for families, groups and individuals to create unique and personal gifts, keepsakes and heirloom items. By offering this outlet for artistic expression, we hope to build relationships within families, to foster community, and to promote stress relief and self-discovery.

The Komen Central Georgia Race for the Cure®
The annual is a 5K run/walk benefiting the breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The race will be held Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 9:00a.m., rain or shine, on the beautiful front campus of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Other events that morning will include a Celebration Walk, Kids for the Cure® Play Area and Parade, Awards Ceremony, Survivor Recognition, and other Exhibits and Entertainment. Individual and Team registration is available online. Pre-Registration is only $20 for the Race (5K or Celebration Walk). Race day registration is $25. Registration for the Kids for the Cure® Play Area and Parade is only $10 per child. Call 478-390-4828 for more information about Race day events.
