InsureMe Blogs Earn Standard of Excellence

Company blogs gain recognition from the Web Marketing Association

Denver (PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- InsureMe, the free online service that helps people save on insurance, has earned four standard of excellence awards from the Web Marketing Association.

The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was developed to help set high standards in Web marketing and development. The association’s annual Web Marketing Awards name the best sites in 96 industry categories in 33 countries around the world. Submitted sites are judged on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use.

Nominated were three InsureMe blogs: the InsureMe Affiliate Blog, the InsureMe Agent Blog, and the InsureMe Insurance Blog. Each of the blogs concentrate on issues and news surrounding the company’s respective audiences—affiliate marketers, insurance professionals and insurance shoppers.

The InsureMe Affiliate Blog earned two awards, the Blog Standard of Excellence and the Marketing Standard of Excellence. Both the InsureMe Agent Blog and the InsureMe Insurance Blog earned the Insurance Standard of Excellence Award.

All three blogs scored high marks for copywriting, content, and ease of use, when compared to other industry-related sites. That is a good sign, according to Tim McTavish, InsureMe president and CEO.

“We’re delighted to be recognized by the WMA for our blogging efforts,” said McTavish. “The blogs were born out of the desire to provide useful, high-quality content for our affiliates, agents and insurance shoppers. It’s a great affirmation for us.”

Head affiliate blogger, James Omdahl, sees the WMA recognition as an important milestone for the insurance industry, which has typically fallen behind in web usage and development standards.

“We hope this is a turning point, not just for the InsureMe blogs but for the insurance industry as well,” noted Omdahl. “Our blogs are all about breaking barriers, establishing new standards, and building relationships with industry peers and insurance shoppers.”

When asked about the future of the InsureMe blogs, Omdahl affirmed, “We’re passionate about blogging at InsureMe. It’s been a great vehicle for starting conversations with our communities; we’ll continue to stay on the cutting edge of corporate blogging.”

The InsureMe blogs are updated five days a week and are free for the public to read and comment on. Recently the InsureMe bloggers expanded their horizons to include video blogging, or vlogging. The InsureMe Insurance Blog Wrap-Up can be found on the InsureMe Insurance Blog every Friday afternoon.
