The Hilldale Memorial Project and Octrolleyfest is sponsoring an Essay Contest on the history of the Hilldales and their impact on society.

(PRWEB) September 28, 2006 -- The Hilldale Memorial Project and Octrolleyfest is sponsoring an Essay Contest on the history of the Hilldales and their impact on society.

Contest for Children in grades 5 through 12.

In 500 words or less answer one of the following questions:

Why is the history of Hilldale Baseball team important today?

What did you learn from researching about the Hilldale Baseball Team?

Who was your favorite Hilldale player and why?

Should local history like the Hilldale Baseball Team be taught in school?

Entries will be judged on originality and clarity.
                      
Winners chosen from the following categories:

        Grades 5 and 6
        Grades 7, 8, and 9
        Grades 10, 11 and 12.

Prizes and Surprises!
Essays will be given to the Judges on October 14th during the Hilldale Dedication Ceremony, 1 pm Hilldale Field, 115 Chester Ave. Yeadon

All entries must be sent to the Darby Free Library by October 10, 2006 and include; name, address, telephone number, school and grade.
