Canada’s Top 32 Students Attempt to Stump The Trump

Impact Apprentice contestants participate in the first-ever nationwide apprentice competition.

Waterloo, Ontario (PRWEB) September 29, 2006 -- After weeks of preparation, Impact Apprentice contestants packed their best power suits and traveled to Ottawa, Ontario, to participate in the first-ever nationwide apprentice competition.

Impact Apprentice is featuring the top 32 students from across Canada competing in downtown Ottawa from Sept. 26th-29th for the title "Impact Apprentice". Inspired by the hit television series Donald Trump's "The Apprentice", Impact Apprentice features Canadian students from 18 Universities and colleges.

Upon arrival yesterday, contestants checked into ARC The Hotel for the revealing of the four Impact Apprentice teams. Teams were required to select a team name that represented all the strengths and characteristics their members would contribute over the 4 day competition. The four teams are: Mosiac, The Pinnacle, Kiai and Capital Pearl.

After the opening remarks from Impact's President & Founder Kunal Gupta, contestants were transported to Parliament Hill in executive style, epitomized by the flowing champagne and luxury limousines. Diane Finley, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development delivered a keynote address on the impact of entrepreneurship in Canadian Society. The contestants were then treated to an exclusive tour of the non-public areas of the House of Commons.

Impact Apprentice contestants then headed downtown for dinner at Ottawa's Blue Cactus restaurant. To end the evening, each contestant was individually filmed and asked about their greatest accomplishments.

Contestants are eager to start the first challenge as they are competing for interviews with sponsor companies, exclusive dinners with high-profiled executives and over $10,000 in prizes. For more information about the competition, visit http://apprentice.impact.org.

Impact would like to take this opportunity to thank Impact Apprentice Partner level sponsor TELUS, and Supporters RIM, IBM, and Infusion Development.
