LogiXML today announces general availability of its new LGX Mart, a highly flexible, low cost and specialized data store that works with the company’s popular pure web based LGX Info and LGX Ad Hoc Reporting products to deliver efficient and effective data availability for business intelligence, reporting and analysis.

LGX Mart is integrated with the LogiXML Unified BI Platform to provide a data mart-building solution that features a report-oriented approach. LGX Mart uses the report and database “definition” to build a report-optimized data model. This approach delivers fast and reliable data mart capability without the cost of developing a complex database architecture design and optimization process.

The speed of set up and the flexibility of LGX Mart allows an organization to extract, merge, join and load data from multiple data sources to meet the needs of their BI and reporting users. The organization can configure the LGX Mart to serve real-time data, cached data or both based upon their definition of the data mart. The system is scalable, allowing multiple LGX Mart servers to connect to one reporting server, and reasonably priced at a cost of $10,000 per processor for unlimited number of connections, users and data size.

For years, large data rich organizations have been planning and implementing data warehouses to optimize data for reporting and analysis needs. Unfortunately, this process typically meant adding high cost IT staff, limiting flexibility when making changes, and incurring significant costs for additional hardware and licensing fees for analytical databases and ETL tools. The easy mart approach, using LGX Mart, eliminates these barriers to widespread implementation.

LGX Mart integrates the LogiXML Unified BI Platform with a proven post relational database engine -- InterSystems Corporation’s CACHÉ. The product’s Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) uses the advanced web service features of CACHÉ. Using this technology, LGX Mart supports data caching to increase efficiency and also supports the ability to add as many instances of the data-caching engine as needed to support demand. The LGX Mart engine can run on the same reporting server or on additional servers as needed.

LGX Mart builds on LogiXML’s web-based reporting and business intelligence expertise leveraging technology developed for the LGX Unified BI Platform. It allows report users to interactively and rapidly create customized data columns, aggregations, cross-tab tables and data filters for a virtually unlimited number of records. Integrating the Analysis Grid technology with a powerful data processor engine provides report users with the ability to run reports on large datasets at extremely fast speeds.
