“Today’s Family” Show to Feature Hillel --The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life

New Line Media is pleased to announce the selection of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life for its innovative, educational television series, Today’s Family. The organization will be featured in a segment on “Building a Solid Foundation” in our Remembering Your Heritage Series.

The largest Jewish campus organization in the world, Hillel provides opportunities for Jewish students at more than 500 colleges and universities to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity through its global network of regional centers, campus foundations and Hillel student organizations all around the world. Hillel, an 83-year-old organization, is working to trigger a rebirth of Jewish life and helps students find a balance in being distinctively Jewish and universally human.

Hillel's mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish undergraduate and graduate students so that they may in turn, enrich the Jewish people and the world. It is estimated that 91 percent of college-age Jews (approximately 350,000 individuals) attend some form of institution of higher learning. The Jewish community believes that the college years may be the last opportunity to connect these young people to the Jewish community offer Jewish subject matters to young people before they disperse to the working world.

Any Jewish student may participate in Hillel – no membership is required. Hillel is proud to support 251 affiliated foundations, program centers and Jewish student organizations. From responding to international challenges situations, to having a place to go on Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, or reminding those in college of Jewish holidays, Hillel provides a welcoming atmosphere on campus. comfort zone for Jewish students, many of whom may be away from home in strange communities for their education.
