Teen Illustrator Designs "Project Farm" for Teens Waiting for a Place to Call Their Home
Teen, Ancel Archer, illustrator of children's books, "Doors" and "Children of Ocha" designs "Project Farm - The Center" for children in need of permanent homes. "Project Farm - The Center" is a collaboration of the Safe Child Custody Support Group and the artistic talents of young Archer. "Ancel was told what the project was about, and his drawing hand took off like it had a mind of its own," said Kim Martin, Vice President of Safe Child Custody. "He absolutely understood the premise, immediately." When asked which would be preferable if he was in the same situation as some displaced teens, Ancel's thoughtful response was, "I think I would prefer the chance to work for my own well-being. I think most kids would prefer Project Farm than waiting for adoption or staying on the streets."
(PRWEB) September 30, 2006 -- In collaboration with the Safe Child Custody Support Group, teen illustrator, Ancel Archer, designed "Project Farm - The Center," an innovative and constructive project to move children from adoption waiting lists, foster care, and dangerous streets into productive lives. "Project Farm - The Center" is an initiative of the Safe Child Custody Support Group. The organization's Chairperson said the premise behind Project Farm is first to address stability in children's lives by the creation of a place that they will be able to call a permanent home, and to allow them the opportunity to make decisions about the possibilities for their future. The Safe Child Custody Support Group will begin large-scale solicitation efforts to develop and support Project Farm.
The program will stipulate a specific age range--children from ages 13 to 17 (more likely to be waiting indefinitely for adoption). The plan will need to incorporate active or retired farmers to assist the children in the processing of their own diary products (such as milk and eggs, with the labeling, "For a Safe Child" ). Various professionals, in numerous fields, as well as the cooperation of state adoption agencies, and incentive benefits to farmers are needed to bring Project Farm to fruition.
If you would like to see "Project Farm - The Center" be the promise for the children's future, please make a donation at the Safe Child Custody Support Group's website at: http://www.safechildcustodysupportgroup.org.
