Need Creativity at the 11th Hour? - ThoughtOffice Provides Key with 7.3 Million Words and Images for Fast, Creative Ideas and Presentations
Being creative at the 11th-hour can put tremendous stress on the part of your creative people, and often reduce the quality and quantity of the creative output. A new program from ThoughtOffice Corporation called ThoughtOffice claims to speed the creative process and provide dozens to hundreds of new ideas quickly, and then provides a presentation platform similar to an outliner or Power Point.
The Big Island, Hawaii (PRWEB) January 2, 2006 -- Many creatives in advertising, blog writing, news and presentation thrive on the pressure that comes from the "11th hour" - that period of time just before the deadline that forces creative output. A new program from ThoughtOffice Corporation, called ThoughtOffice (http://www.thoughtoffice.com/?page_id=5) claims to act as a creative catalyst to help accelerate the process of new idea development and presentation. A single word entry into the software taps 6.8 million word and phrases references and over 600,000 images to provide instant ideas, then presents them in a visual outline and slideshow for distribution to an audience.
"We've been working in this realm known as 'word association'(http://www.thoughtoffice.com/?page_id=211) since 1992, and using this approach to drive the creative process" says Mark Alan Effinger, CEO for ThoughtOffice.com. "With ThoughtOffice, we believe 'creatives', those folks tasked with generating consistently rich and effective creative content, now have a power-tool which will help them stay at the peak of their creative output".
The program, a Windows 2000 and XP and Macintosh OSX software application, provides a simple interface into four web-databases. These databases contain 1-million word associations, 6.3 million internet searches, 140,000 word synonyms and 600,000 fresh stock-photo images, and are updated weekly with new content to keep them relevant.
Word Association, as the process is known, is used by creatives as a way to stimulate and connect ideas. The process begins with a single word or phrase, and then associated words and phrases pop-up from the original. Eventually a long thread of ideas, in words, colloquialisms, phrases and images come together into multiple ideas.
ThoughtOffice also promises to address the organization and presentation of the idea through a companion interface known as the Session Window (http://www.thoughtoffice.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/ceo-software.jpg). The integrated program provides an outline of the creative process, with additional editing controls and branding. In addition, a SlideShow Presenter allows the user to display the ideas much like Power Point, right from the computer. Additional export options make printing to PDF and HTML a one-click process.
"We believe there is a long way to go before the creative process is truly refined in software" mentions David Lockman, ThoughtOffice Product Specialist. "But programs like ThoughtOffice can certainly provide an edge, especially when an individual needs lots of good ideas quickly, and a way to share them that is beyond flailing arms and expensive artists' comps".
The program is priced at $99, with expanded versions that have modules for specific markets such as Advertising, Business Planning and Conflict-Resolution (http://www.thoughtoffice.com/?page_id=4) ranging from $149 to $499. The programs can be seen at http://www.thoughtoffice.com.
