American Author First to Tour India

Sankara Saranam, author of the award-winning book "God Without Religion," will launch a full-scale publicity tour of India on January 24 to promote the book's Indian edition.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) January 4, 2006 -- Sankara Saranam, author of the award-winning book God Without Religion, will make history in January as the first author published in India to launch a full-scale publicity tour of the Indian subcontinent. Saranam will travel the country for three weeks to promote the January release of the Indian edition of God Without Religion, issued by Editions India. www.godwithoutreligion.com

“Sankara Saranam will not only be making publishing history but also recreating the historical journey of India's spiritual genius and reformer, Adi Sankara—the first Sankaracharya, or World Teacher,” says Mohan Nair, publisher of Editions India. “Just as Adi Sankara traveled the length of India from north to south, Saranam’s tour will hit many of India’s major cities, including New Delhi, Calcutta, and Bombay.”

We expect the book to be received as a well-argued classic in the realm of religion and spirituality. In India there is a tradition of openness to considering and discussing universal truths.
In God Without Religion, hailed as “a spiritual masterpiece,” Saranam, an ascetic and mystic, shows why organized religion has long been the cause of humanity’s worst wars and most acute suffering—then proposes a path to God through the ancient science of intuition, or looking within. Through a series of penetrating inquiries and practices, he guides us beyond our divisive history into more expansive perceptions capable of creating a unified, peaceful future.

“The message of God Without Religion is of vital importance to the Indian people, many of whom are beginning to question the dubious role of organized religion in their lives,” says Galadriel Frond, Editions India’s editorial director. “We expect the book to be received as a well-argued classic in the realm of religion and spirituality. In India there is a tradition of openness to considering and discussing universal truths.”

The book tour will kick off at the New Delhi World Book Fair on January 28, where the Indian edition of God Without Religion will be officially released. Other highlights include a talk at the Madras Book Club in Chennai and addresses to the followers of the renowned sages Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry and Sri Ramana Maharishi in Tiruvannamalai. www.godwithoutreligion.com
