Asheville, NC (PRWEB) January 6, 2006
Local fashion house, Mehera Shaw Designs, reports that forth quarter sales for 2005 were up 47% over last year, while sales for 2005 were up an average of 38% over 2004 figures. The young, locally owned fashion house, was started in 1999 and is situated in the Carr Mill mall in Carrboro, NC. After an initial struggle with slow business and learning the local retail climate, the design house, owned by Mark and Shari Keller, is profiting from their efforts. Their line is a very feminine, upmarket look with natural fibers, mainly cottons, in hand printed floral patterns. The focus is on natural beauty.
Designer and co-owner Shari Keller comments, “the increase in business that we have seen in the last year is very encouraging. We are developing a customer base of women who appreciate fine cottons, natural fibers, and a sense of natural beauty through classically inspired styles. We are inspired by our increase in sales figures and feel that we are offering what women really want: truly feminine clothing that is about natural beauty and personal expression. Mehera Shaw is developing a loyal customer base.”
For the future, Mehera Shaw is working toward a collection of organic cottons. They consider themselves a restoration enterprise. “We want to move fashion forward with not only feminine clothing, but with socially conscious clothing. We support and appreciate truly natural beauty,” says Shari. “We are developing styles suitable for an organic line. We feel it will complement our Mehera Shaw collections and be an added inspiration to our customers.”
