Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) January 9, 2006 -– Educational leaders nationwide will discover how to apply the science of learning to the art of teaching from renowned pediatrician and learning expert Dr. Mel Levine during Educational Care for All Kinds of Minds. This two-day seminar in Phoenix on February 24 to 25, 2006 introduces a neurodevelopmental approach to understanding differences in learning that can help all students succeed in school.

Dr. Levine is Director of the Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the best-selling author of A Mind at a Time, and co-founder and co-chair of All Kinds of Minds®. This nonprofit Institute is bringing the latest advances in neurodevelopmental knowledge to educators across the country.

“As we discover more and more about how students learn and how minds learn differently, our schools have a golden opportunity to increase the proportion of the students who experience true academic success,” said Dr. Levine.

The first day of the seminar features a presentation by Dr. Levine on the guiding principles of educational care and eight neurodevelopmental constructs that impact students and the classroom environment. The second day offers a preview of the nationally renowned Schools Attuned® Program, with practical application sessions on assessment, curriculum, and strategies for successfully utilizing the information.

“School principals, district staff development specialists, directors of special education, and Title I programs as well as teacher leaders charged with guiding others toward the best approaches to learning for all students will find this seminar to be invaluable,” said Mary-Dean Barringer, National Director of the Schools Attuned Program.

A Federal subsidy entitles public school leaders in selected states to attend for only $240, more than half off the list price of $495. The states that qualify for the discounted rate are Arizona, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas, plus designated regions in California and New York.

Each participant receives a copy of Dr. Levine's book Educational Care: A System for Understanding and Helping Children with Learning Problems at Home and in School. The seminar will take place at the Sheraton Crescent, 2620 West Dunlap Avenue in Phoenix, AZ.
