Over 720,000 People Worldwide Now Earn Their Living on eBay

The number of people who earned a full or part-time income on eBay topped 720,000 in 2005. Most did it without a lot of start-up capital or technical knowlege.

(PRWEB) January 13, 2006 -- The number of people who earned a full or part-time income on eBay topped 720,000 in 2005, according to Jessica Montgomery, spokesperson for the eBay Profit Creation System.

Since it’s inception, eBay has become a quick way for average people to earn extra money from home. Because their site is easy to use, there’s generally not a lot of technical experience required, and potential sellers can get started without much investment.

One customer discovered an old camera left to him by his uncle that turned out to be worth over $4,000. Another found a doll collection worth $550. My favorite story is of a man who opened a dusty box and pulled out Issue #1 of Sports Illustrated, which fetched him $95.
According to eBay’s annual report, there are over 68 million active auction participants." With increasing job losses and a downturn in the economy, more and more people are looking for opportunity, and they are finding it online" said Montgomery. "We have clients who spend 20 minutes rummaging through their attic, and then turn around and sell their “junk” for hundreds, even thousands of dollars.”

"Of course, this can’t go on forever," advised Montgomery. "Right now there are plenty of easy ways to make money with online auctions, but like all opportunities, things change quickly. We are advising our clients to get in now before all the easy opportunities are gone."
