5 year old E-files her own tax returns first day. Kindergartener opts for direct deposit refund because she can't write in cursive.

IRS e-file began January 13 and Kindergartener, Julie Kolar, age 5 will be the first in her class to e-file her 2005 tax returns to the IRS and State of Illinois.

Julie’s Father, Mike Kolar, CEO of MR REFUND, and MrRefund.com will also e-file her sister, age 7, Jamie’s tax return when she receives the dividend statement from her Walt Disney shares.

Julie has opted for a direct deposit refund. She has yet to learn cursive to sign the refund check in half day school.

Mike Kolar says young Julie should receive her refund in less than two weeks from the IRS and even sooner from Illinois.

In 2005, 68 million individual tax returns were e-filed to IRS. 17 million were e-filed self prepared. 77% received refunds that averaged more than $2100.

During January 85% of all returns are expected to be E-filed. Over 99% of those e-filing will be getting a direct deposit refund of more than $2700.

Congress has a stated goal to have 80% of all taxpayers using e-file by 2007. Julie and her classmates enjoy learning new things to do with their computers. Julie says, “I really love working in Da Da’s office.”
