Chapel Hill, NC (PRWEB) January 16, 2006
Jennifer Okun, R.N., Patient Care Coordinator at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, today announced the 500th baby testimonial published by the center. The testimonial is the second received from Jessie and Don M. who have already had one baby since undergoing surgery and are now expecting their second child.
Jessie M. underwent tubal ligation reversal surgery by Gary S. Berger, M.D. in June of 2002 and reported a pregnancy in October of that year. Almost exactly one year from the date of her reversal surgery, Jessie and Don welcomed the birth of their daughter, Gabriella. On January 9, 2006, Jessie reported her second pregnancy. “I am still in total shock to find out that we are pregnant again,” stated Jessie. “Gabriella is finally going to be a big sister.”
Dr. Berger, Medical Director of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, has compiled the most comprehensive study done to date of tubal reversal surgery and its resulting outcomes. The study shows that for the majority of women who have undergone a tubal ligation procedure and decide later they would like to have more children, tubal reversal surgery is a better option than in vitro fertilization (IVF). “As Jessie’s results indicate, pregnancy can occur naturally at any time after the reversal procedure and many couples go on to have two or more children following the surgery. Besides having higher success rates, the one-hour outpatient procedure is less than half the cost of an IVF cycle,” Berger explained.
Jessie and Don are certainly happy with their choice to undergo tubal reversal surgery with Dr. Berger. “I have never met a nicer, more talented doctor so in tune with his patients, whether old or new. [He was] always there for us. I am so thankful [his] hands helped us have our miracles we so desperately desired,” declared Jessie. She is currently 7 weeks pregnant with a due date of September 1, 2006. Dr. Berger, one of the pioneers of tubal reversal surgery, is a reproductive surgeon who specializes in and limits his practice to outpatient tubal reversal surgery.
