Help is Here for Medicare D Recipients

Steps to control prescription drug costs while Medicare D issues are resolved.
Buying from Canada offers a safe choice for many of these people.

Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) January 16, 2006 -- Americans frustrated in their efforts to buy medications under the new Medicare Part D program may find better alternatives, such as temporary aid from their state government or buying from Canada. Canadian pharmacies continue to offer a source of safe, low cost medications, with an average savings of 40 per cent off US retail store prices.

Since Medicare D took effect on January 1, several states launched emergency initiatives to help Medicare D recipients who have had difficulty understanding the complex eligibility process to sign up for the federal government program. Thousands of low-income elderly and disabled were distressed with paying upfront for their drugs in the New Year or with waiting hours while their local pharmacists tried to confirm eligibility status.

In response to this confusion, North Dakota and Maine have launched emergency aid to help their low-income elderly and disabled residents.

North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven has authorized the state to give a 30-day emergency supply to its residents unable to fill prescriptions through Medicare D until January 23 while the federal government and private insurers sort through program rollout issues. Maine Gov. John Baldacci extended the hours of the toll-free Pharmacy Help Line to help residents confused by plan enrolments.

Another alternative is to turn to licensed online international pharmacies who have been servicing Americans for several years, such as OneWorldRx (www.oneworldrx.com).

“Buying from Canada is straight forward as all reputable international pharmacies offer personal customer service, a licensed pharmacist health review and home delivery,” said Amber McBain from OneWorldRx (www.oneworldrx.com). “Where there are lapses in Medicare D coverage, Canadian pharmacies offer an excellent complement for most people.”

People caught in the confusion of Medicare D will see benefits buying from Canada:
Immediate savings of 40 per cent off US retail drugstore prices
-No hassle ordering via phone, fax or email
-No upfront fees or monthly premiums, just pay for your prescriptions and shipping fees
-Convenient home delivery
-Personalized customer service agents help fill in orders and guide you through health questionnaires
-Direct contact with licensed pharmacies to answer health questions and review personal health profiles

“The new Medicare Part D coverage has created turmoil for millions of Americans who need to protect their limited budgets and their rights as consumers,” said McBain. “Buying from Canada offers a safe choice for many of these people.”
