London, England (PRWEB) January 20, 2006 -- Big Brother’s viewers opinion swayed at last minute as celebrity Fariah Alam is evictee No.2!
Fariah Alam surprised the bookmakers tonight by being the 2nd Celebrity Big Brother Contestant to be evicted from the house by attracting 45.2% of the public vote.
The audience opinion was swung in dramatic fashion during the course of the evenings broadcast as earlier in the day, Pete Burns was the bookies favourite to be evicted with odds of 8-11.
Fariah looked relieved to be out as she strode down the steps to be greeted by Davina McCaul and Functionpix London photographer Gerald O’Rourke and she was keen to deal with some of the negative comments that had arisen from her final day inside the Big Brother house.
Davina: Faria, I feel you have been on a real journey in the House, the public perception of you was quite bad, it improved and then you got nominated. You got upset and talked about the great British public never voting for an Asian or black person winning and I think the great British public got upset about that.
Faria: Yeah, they must have, I did reflect on that later and thought that was perhaps the case and no sooner does something leave your lips and you think...(raises her eyes)
D:Because you have said things in the heat of the moment
F: Yes, I have. You've got to understand you're under such pressure, the psychological aspect that comes through...
Her fellow housemate Traci shed a tear after Fariah had exited the house as the other celebrities reflected on her departure Multi-lingual Faria Alam formerly worked at the Football Association as PA to the acting chief executive ‘I was infamous before for the wrong reasons’ she said, ‘Now I’d like to be regarded for the right reasons’ Fariah who supports the charity NSPCC said that she would like to work within the fashion arena once again and would ideally like to be designing and creating clothing for Jennifer Lopez.
Functionpix was at the London Elstree Studio to cover the event and as with all our original events/pr/press coverage, we will be donating all profits from the sale of our work to charity.
After the show I was invited to speak with Fariah. I waited a short while - All evicted housemates attend a de-brief after coming out of the house and a consultation with a councillor. Finally as she walked in, I was surprised at how composed and relaxed she looked and as she sat down in front of me, I realised that she’s a lot more attractive than she first appears on television. She spoke softly and succinctly and I asked her how it feels to be out of the Big Brother house ‘Fantastic!’ she beamed ‘Now I can eat all my favourite things again, being deprived of food in the house is really hard’. ‘Do you think that you were misunderstood by the fellow housemates?’ ‘Yeh maybe, if you say one thing in that place it’s easily taken in the wrong context and before you know it, Chinese whispers have changed what you said’. Before she left, Fariah said how she’d like to see Chantelle eventually winning Big Brother and that just maybe, there could be a possible romance emerging for Rula and George? Maybe that’s just as likely as Denis and Fariah meeting up again. Who knows, you decide.
