Web Hosting Provider Host Color Integrates Dynamic Support for PHP4 & PHP5 in Control Panel

The company's customers can choose whichever version of PHP their site should use through a special section in their control panel. This new feature is important for web developers. Although scripts written in the PHP web programming language should run on both versions 4 and 5, some programs have special requirements for either of them.

PHP version 5 was officially released in July 2004 and since then it has marked a major re-design of the language due to the e Zend Engine 2.0 processing core. Also this version of the language has far wider object-orientated capabilities than its predecessors. Web hosting companies are usually slow to adopt new technologies, due to the investment and the extra software work required to ensure compatibility between versions. Host Color's chief software developer Venelin Mihaylov however, reminds that Host Color was one of the first web hosting companies to begin offering PHP 5 more than a year ago. According to Mr. Mihaylov the new switching capability is an example of Host Color's policy to produce software and service that empowers the end user.
Hos Color has recently announced it made available the popular PhpMyVisites to its customers. The web stats software is one of the pre-installed tools the company offers.
The hosting company also started a webmaster contest in January. It has invited authors of articles related to website industry to create their own accounts in the company's web hosting forum (http://forum.hostcolor.com) and to post their work in the section "Resource Toolbox". The best ten Articles chosen by votes of the Host Color Forum members will be awarded with publications in Yahoo and Google news, as well as distribution within the Host Color's partners' networks that include more than 1,000,000 pages recognized by Search Engines.
The web host said it will reward prizes to the top 3 rated articles. Their authors will get 12 months of free web hosting service (Domain Max Pack) that includes all the advanced features that the web hosting company offers to its customers. Host Color will not require the copyright over the articles so their authors will be still able to sell, publish or distribute them elsewhere without any limitations. The web host just needs the authors' permission to post and distribute their articles without changes.
