SEBC Appoints Dr. Vicki Wolfe as VP for Education/Provost
Bible College appoints Dr. Vicki Wolfe as VP for Education/Provost. She is the first woman in the college's history to hold that position.
(PRWEB) January 28, 2006 -- Southeastern Bible College (SEBC) in Birmingham, Alabama, has appointed Dr. Vicki (Lawrence) Wolfe as Vice President for Education/Provost. This move is effective January 1, 2006. Dr. Wolfe currently serves as a faculty member of SEBC and Chairman of the Department of Education.
This appointment represents the culmination of a year-long nationwide search for a leader with the right mix of academic credentials, character, skills and passion for the mission and distinctives of Southeastern.
Dr. Don Hawkins, President of Southeastern, expressed delight in the selection of Dr. Wolfe as Vice President for Education/Provost. “It is appropriate that we recognize God’s clear direction in providing us with the right person to lead our academic initiative. I am convinced we have found that person and I’m delighted that we found her here at Southeastern!”
Dr. Wolfe was unreservedly recommended by the seven member search committee, strongly affirmed by the Board of Trustees and heartily endorsed by the college’s educational consultant, Dr. Ralph Enlow, provost of Columbia International University. Dr. Wolfe stated that a key component of her leadership philosophy is to: “find creative solutions to commonplace problems”.
Dr. Wolfe is a graduate of Southeastern Bible College (B.A., 1988); Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA. (M.Ed., 1989) and the University of Tennessee (Ed.D in Leadership Studies/Administration in Higher Education, 1999). She has served in a variety of leadership roles at SEBC since joining the faculty in 1999. According to Dr. Hawkins: “Her formal education with focus on Higher Education Administration, her commitment to and compatibility with Southeastern’s educational mission, her recognized leadership traits and character, all distinguish her as the right person for this strategic time in the history of SEBC”.
