KUA VP Elected to Energy Standards Board
Kissimmee Utility Authority vice president of power supply Abani K. "Ben" Sharma has been elected to the board of directors of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council, Inc.
Kissimmee, FL (PRWEB) January 28, 2006 -- Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) vice president of power supply Abani K. "Ben" Sharma has been elected to the board of directors of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council, Inc. (FRCC).
Since its formation in 1996, FRCC has operated successfully as a self-regulatory organization, relying on reciprocity and the mutual self-interest of all those involved in the electric system in the Sunshine State.
As a member of the board, Sharma will work to ensure and enhance the reliability and adequacy of bulk electricity supply in Florida.
Sharma is a registered Professional Engineer, a Certified Florida Technical Assistance Analyst and a Certified Cogeneration Professional by the Association of Energy Engineers.
Sharma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Banaras Engineering College, India, and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga.
Sharma's board term expires in 2007.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
