Charity Fund Raising Reaches New Levels Regency Fine Art Helps Charity Event Profits Skyrocket

Norcross, GA (PRWEB) January 30, 2006 -- Highbrow just got a little more accessible. Local art auction house Regency Fine Art today announced its new ARTcetra program, which combines a traditional art auction with a live event like a jazz concert or similar draw, then adds in sports memorabilia and celebrity collectibles. The result is a fun evening for attendees and amazing amounts of profits for charities.

“With more than 30 years’ experience in conducting fine art auctions, we have that type of event down pat,” explains Lester Herbertson, co-owner of Regency Fine Art. “We’d been contacted by organizations looking to bolster proceeds for their charity fund raising organizations, but who weren’t having success with typical art auctions. Basically, individuals found them stuffy and boring, so attendance was down, which meant there were fewer checkbooks to help the charities.”

There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel for charity fund raising when our clients are willing to share their successes so others can achieve similar success.
So Regency built the ARTcetra program, which includes a Guidebook for Success and helps organizations capitalize on the successes of others who have organized similar events with great success.

One of those success stories is Temple Beth Shalom in Brandon, Fla. Jill Oppolo, co-chair for the event, wanted to expand their annual art auction, as well as increase its profits. With Regency’s direction, Oppolo and her team of volunteers selected “All Jazzed Up – An Evening of Auctions” as its theme, lined up a jazz band and took the fund raising event to an off-site facility. They also partnered with the American Cancer Society – a move that doubled their target audience and then doubled attendance at the auction.

“Ticket sales were so brisk and donations were coming in so fast,” Oppolo explained, “that we had to rent a tent for all the silent auction items.” More than 200 patrons attended the glamorous event, and total profit was over $20,000 for the temple’s charity arm.

“The support we received from Regency was fabulous,” she continued. “They worked closely with us to make sure we had everything in line. When it came time to set up, we had no idea how to pull it off and they helped us immensely on the location and placement of the art for the evening.”

According to Herbertson, the results that Beth Shalom obtained can be replicated by other organizations using their ARTcetra program. “Using our Guidebook for Success can put them well ahead of other groups,” he said. “There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel for charity fund raising when our clients are willing to share their successes so others can achieve similar success.”
