"Podcasting" Offers Fresh Content and Advice Unavailable at Bookstores and from Mainstream Media

"The Expat Podcast" is a free digital broadcast that exemplifies this new phenomena including: travel advice, world music, and a clear view of life outside the walls of one's home country.

(PRWEB) January 31, 2006 -- First off, what is a podcast? MacDailyNews.com writes: "Only a year ago, podcasting was an arcane activity, the domain of a few techies and self-admitted "geeks." Now you can hear everything from NASCAR coverage to NPR's "All Things Considered" in downloadable audio files called "podcasts." Thousands of podcasts are available at the iTunes Music Store, and websites such as iPodder.com and Podcast.net track thousands more. This is why the editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary have selected "podcast" as the Word of the Year for 2005.

The creative surge of independent sources further provides the ability to gather fair and useful information and serves as an alternative to mainstream media. In fact, most times the information is not only balanced, but commercial free, educational, and quite entertaining.

Some people just want to travel or learn another language, for some it is business, and increasingly people venture abroad for dodgy political reasons, whatever people decide to do with their life is their business, and we respect that on our show.
"The Expat Podcast" is one such example of commercial free media gaining ground on traditional media. The host, Ryan, interviews subjects that have traveled the world and are planning to live away from their native countries such as England, Germany, and the United States.

"Some people just want to travel or learn another language, for some it is business, and increasingly people venture abroad for dodgy political reasons, whatever people decide to do with their life is their business, and we respect that on our show."

The program usually runs about 30 minutes, has a nice introduction, tips, and interviews with seasoned travelers possessing first hand knowledge of traveling and life abroad.

To listen to an audio broadcast of the Expat Podcast, go to www.ExpatPodcast.com or the Apple iTunes Store to subscribe to a daily "feed" subscription.
