Revelation Technologies Releases Second Generation of Its Intelligent Database Access Layer Software

Revelation Technologies recently announced the release of Dali 2.0, the second major release of its intelligent Data Access Layer software. This latest version was built exclusively for the new Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 platform.

Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) January 31, 2006 -- Revelation Technologies recently announced the second major release of its Dali intelligent data access layer software. Dali is a software component that enables software developers to write database-aware applications with less than half the database-related source code required by traditional methods. Reducing the amount of required source code increases developers’ productivity while reducing errors.

Unlike traditional data access layers, Dali does not rely on code generators that create large amounts of vendor-specific source files. Nor does it require a paradigm shift from object-oriented to relational thinking. Dali allows existing business objects to interact with a database--either directly using a two-tiered architecture or indirectly using an n-tiered, web service-based architecture. For new projects, Dali does provide a code generator tool, Dali Studio, which creates source code files appropriate for the chosen database. And unlike many object-relational mapping (ORM) tools, Dali does not require any additional mapping files that can get out-of-sync with the code.

Dali increases productivity among junior-level programmers since it does not require knowledge of SQL. Instead, developers simply use the object-oriented skills they already posses. Senior-level developers also benefit from Dali. By spending less time writing and debugging database code they have more time to devote to other important areas of their applications.

Dali was introduced in February of 2004. Since its initial release it has undergone several minor version upgrades with enhancements based on user feedback. Built exclusively for the newly released Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, this latest version of Dali improves usability by exploiting features in this new framework. A free 60 day trial version is available for download from the Revelation Technologies website.
