Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) January 31, 2006

Technology industry veteran Graeme Thickins announced today he has launched a new blog that will report and analyze developments in the industry. (http://graemethickins.typepad.com) The blog will also carry coverage of important technology events, the first being the venerable "Demo" conference in Phoenix, February 6-8 (http://www.demo.com), where Thickins will report live. More than 60 promising new tech firms, drawn from a list of 300, will launch at Demo this year, attracting a large contingent of traditional press as well as many of the web's leading bloggers.

Thickins has a long history reporting on technology industry developments for key players in the business. He began writing email reports on industry conferences in 1997 for a list that grew to more than 2500 tech executives, CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and others. From 1999 to 2003, he continued his email newsletter and also reported for Conferenza.com, the leading site for information and perspective about technology conferences. In addition, his writings have appeared in Computerworld, eWeek, Infostor, Byte & Switch, Darwin Magazine, BrandChannel, and many other online media outlets. (http://www.graemethickins.com)

The new blog is titled "Tech~Surf~Blog ... It Comes In Waves™," a play on another of the author's interests: surfing. "Blogging is all about passion," said Thickins. "And mine have been technology and innovation for my entire 30-year career. But I mix in a little surfing, too, a passion that goes back even further, starting when I was 13. I think it makes for a fun blog-blend -- a way to take a break and clear the mind, just like real-life surfing."

Categories covered by Graeme Thickins' new blog include marketing, innovation, venture capital, entrepreneurship, IT and software, utility computing, web technology, web content, "Web.2.0," blogging, messaging and collaboration, and consumer electronics.

Graeme Thickins is a marketing executive in the technology industry and previously founded GT&A Strategic Marketing (http://www.gtamarketing.com), where for 24 years he helped more than 100 startup and emerging firms launch, grow, and prosper.
