More than 5000 Stuff A Friend work at home reps offer the fun and creativity of stuffing plush animals in the comfort of your own home.
Mobile, AL (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- As a wife and home-school mom of four girls Evie McLarty led a busy life. She did however want to earn some money while at the same time find an opportunity that allowed her to get out of the house now and then. This desire to run a business along with not wanting to put her kids in daycare or to hire a baby sitter led her to start Stuff A Friend, a mobile plush animal stuffing business, from a spare bedroom in her Mobile Alabama home. Evie, knowing that kids loved stuffed animals and crafts, bought some plush animal skins, some bear clothes and started hosting in home bear stuffing children’s birthday parties. Word spread quickly around Mobile and soon moms were talking about how much fun their kids were having at Stuff A Friend parties. Evie says, “When I started hosting the parties the reaction was great. So many moms were looking for a fun animal stuffing party that they could do at home without the hassle of taking 10 or 20 kids to the mall”. When these same moms inquired about hosting parties themselves Evie designed a website so others could learn more about the Stuff A Friend business opportunity. Feeling that the business was already designed and in place she offered it to other moms for free.
The response has been incredible, since July of last year over 5000 people have joined Stuff A Friend. These “work at home reps” sell the unique Stuff A Friend animal kits; which includes one unstuffed animal, stuffing, satin wishing star, birth certificate and take home box either individually or in an event pack suitable for parties through their own websites at www.stuffafriend.biz and get to keep 30% of the sale as commission.
Evie remembers when she first started by hosting parties, “I was trying to find a little something to do to help with the family finances that would be flexible because my schedule can be a little crazy. Between home-schooling my girls, their music practice, coaching soccer, basketball and cheerleading it had to be something that didn’t require constant attention.”
That little something has grown into a full time business with thousands of work at home individuals across the country hosting animal stuffing parties for birthdays, girl scouts, brownie meetings and more. With so many reps joining the company; these days Evie has little time to do the actual parties and spends most of her time updating the website, and responding to questions from prospective reps. She has even taken on a partner company that handles all the product development, and order fulfillment.
“With all the new reps signing up every day my duties have definitely shifted to helping them become successful. I am enjoying this part of the business, it is very rewarding to know that what I started has been able to help thousands of people start their own business and be able to spend more time with their families.” As with most of the reps that have joined SAF, family always comes first with Evie too. Evie says, “I felt that if I were to do an at home business that the kids would be a big part of it and they are. My kids love the different animals. They helped me choose which ones we were going to feature and they helped me name the animals as well. The other great part about SAF is that my girls see that I can be their mom, their teacher, and that I can also start and run my own business. I am so grateful that I found this as it lets me show my girls that there is nothing a mom can’t do."
