Bad Boy's Female Songwriter Makeba Riddick Makes a Huge Splash on Beyonce's #1 Album B'Day

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- Makeba Riddick (aka Girl Wonder) makes a splash at #1 as co/writer for Beyonce's B'Day. B'Day has exploded at top of the Top 200 with 557,196 copies sold in its first week of release. Riddick co/wrote five songs, which included the monster summer anthem "Déjà vu" featuring Jay Z.
"Deja Vu" peaked at #1 on the Top 100 single Sales chart, #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart, and #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart in the US, according to Billboard. "Deja Vu" was also a #1 song on iTunes. In addition, "Deja Vu" became the #1 commercial single in Japan and the United Kingdom and achieved #1 Airplay in Hong Kong and Korea. The track made it to #1 on the German Club Charts, became the #1 R&B Airplay song in the Philippines, and made it to #1 on major stations in Indonesia.
On B'Day Makeba collaborated with superstar producers Rodney Jerkins, Swiss Beats, Rich Harrison, and Sean Garrett. As the only girl in Diddy's Hit-Man stable, she is on way into becoming a sought out songwriter/producer in the music business. "Makeba is a brilliant songwriter. When she is working with an artist, she is a beast! Her work ethic is out of this world," states Diddy.
2006 marks the year of Makeba, she got the year started with writing credits on Danity Kane's #1 debut album, Jessica Simpson's top 10 smash A public affair and international pop sensation Rihanna's A girl like me.
Previously, she has written songs for Janet Jackson, Toni Braxton, Teairra Mari and Rihanna, just to name a few and in 2003 won an ASCAP Pop Award for Billboard's Hot 100 number one song "All I Have" which she wrote for Jennifer Lopez and featured LL Cool J.
