New gaming headphones provide amplification of game audio and Xbox live chat. These amplified headphones give serious gamers a competitive edge by combining Xbox Live chat and stereo game audio into an immersive sound experience. Featuring a wired configuration between the headphones and the game console, the integrated design overcomes the limitation of communicator headsets, which block game sound from one ear, and also eliminates voice chat interference caused by traditional headset microphones picking up sound from external speakers.

Turtle Beach today announced the availability of the newest addition to its Ear Force line of gaming headsets -- the Ear Force X1.

“We designed the X1s to meet the highest standards of professional gamers,” said Seth Dotterer, director of marketing for Turtle Beach. “Comfort, durability and amazing sound were all critical elements -- and the resulting Ear Force X1s end up being a perfect fit for both the pros and the late night gamer who wants to experience a full audio assault without waking up the neighbors.”

Before the introduction of the Ear Force X1 and X2 headphones, Xbox gamers had to resort to hearing chat in one ear and mono game sound in the other. Now gamers can get all the audio they need to compete -- every crash, explosion and footstep of their virtual worlds and trash talk from online competitors -- while blocking out all outside distractions. The Ear Force X1 headphones are powered via USB, and feature a durable microphone with an adjustable boom that can be moved to any preferred position for precise placement, or away from the gamers’ face in between battles.

While designed for the Xbox 360, the Ear Force X1s can also be used with any gaming console, PC or laptop games (note that the integrated microphone works only with Xbox 360 or PCs.). The Ear Force X1 headphones are available for a retail price of $59.95, and include an amplifier with individual game and volume control, an Xbox Live connection cable, audio splitter cables, a USB extender cable and quick start guide.
