Our main advantage is that we understand operations. Although we are experts in technology we don’t look to throw equipment alone at the problem. We think out of the box! Many solutions are a combination of equipment, good administration, policies and procedures and architectural designs to enhance security.
Niverville, NY (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 –
Vic Plessner of the VHP Group Asia, Co., Ltd has developed Security Programs to help Tourism re-flourish in Asia.
“Tourism has suffered greatly since 9/11. People are afraid to fly. Flying itself, with the security checks, has become unnerving and a hassle for many. News reports over simplify world events. A small skirmish in a country can get major news coverage and be presented totally out of proportion and context” says Vic Plessner, Managing Director of the VHP Group Asia, based in Thailand.
“A case in point is Thailand. First there was 9/11 which contributed to a curtailment of international flying. Added to that was Bird Flu epidemics (SARS). People not overly concerned by terrorists, might be afraid of contracting a disease. Next was the Tsunami. It was a rare occurrence but people are still concerned about going to spend a vacation where a natural disaster recently struck. Then there are the reports of fighting in the Southern region of Thailand” continues Plessner.
“Now, Thailand is going through a change in Government by way of a Military Coup. People living in Thailand, take it all in stride. Ask any Farang (Westerner) living in Thailand and they just shuck it off and realize what a wonderful place Thailand is and how blown out of proportion much of the news is. But that doesn’t offset the decline of tourism or fear of many Westerners from visiting at this time.
Obviously, a big PR job needs to be done to encourage tourism to Thailand and offset the cloudy image portrayed by the News Media. One way to help the Hotel Industry is to let potential travelers know that Thailand is safe and that the Travel and Hotel Industry has taken unprecedented steps to assure the traveler a safe and enjoyable visit. The VHP Group Asia Co., Ltd. is a security consulting company who has formulated an approach for the Travel and Hotel Industry to accomplish these goals.
“The process starts before the traveler has left their home by being supplied a briefing on conditions in Thailand. This will include subjects such as weather, the political situation, how to deal with security checks, how to dress when traveling internationally, and provide some insight as to the happenings from a vacation point of view. These can even be sponsored ads from restaurants, etc.” says Vic. “The VHP Group will provide these briefings in various formats including recorded files sent via the internet or on CD”.
The next step is to provide the tourist with the option of being met at the airport by pre-arranged Hotel Staff and/or a security representative. A pre-programmed mobile telephone can even be supplied with emergency numbers, as well as the visitor’s home base numbers.
The VHP Group is also offering the Hotels a Security Accreditation Certificate. This is based upon a survey of the Hotel’s security and safety measures. Many of the Hotel’s have their own security firms that they work with. The Accreditation Program will be made available to any reliable security firm through Hotel Associations. VHP’s roll is to provide the Accreditation Standards and to be a consultant to the Associations allowing local security companies to continue their relationships with their Hotel Clients.
VHP will also provide training to the security companies so that they meet the standards set forth and agreed upon by the Associations.

He also encouraged the building of hospital wings and soccer fields.
“We are familiar with securing against guerilla and terrorist organizations. We’ve been doing it all our lives!” says Vic Plessner.
