Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 5, 2006 -- Atlanta sports fans, here’s your chance to be heard! The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame is seeking outstanding metro Atlanta sports figures for its 2007 class.

Nominations must be in writing and be received by November 30, 2006. For eligibility requirements, nomination forms and an overview of the selection process, go to the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame website, www.AtlantaSportsHallofFame.org.

The 2007 Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in March 2007, and will be inducted June 8, 2007.

The induction ceremony, which is open to the public, will include a cocktail reception, silent auction, raffle, and dinner, concluding with the induction of six of metro Atlanta’s great athletes, coaches, managers, and sports contributors. Proceeds from the induction ceremony will benefit the Hall of Fame youth education programs.

“Members of next year’s class will join an impressive group of Atlanta sports icons,” said Larry Winter, Hall of Fame president and founder. Previously inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame are Hank Aaron, Furman Bisher, Bobby Cox, Bobby Cremins, Bobby Dodd, Evander Holyfield, Bobby Jones, “Red” Moore, Phil Neikro, Tommy Nobis, Wyomia Tyus and Dominique Wilkins.

The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame was organized in 2002 to honor Atlanta sports heroes, remember great moments in Atlanta sports history, and preserve the past from which future generations can learn and take pride. More on the organization can be found at www.AtlantaSportsHallofFame.org. The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame Foundation is a Georgia non-profit corporation and is a registered 501c(3) corporation with the IRS.
