Philadelphia's $20,000 Thiess Mural Can be Yours for $20 at Thiess Art October Tri-State Community Open Vendor Call Events
The city of Philadelphia is getting ready for month of Thiess Miles presentations since Thiess'red t-shirt was worn by actor Activist Danny Glover on national television. The artist is working with the City of Philadelphia, Mural Arts Program's Director, Cathy C. Harris, providing mural set design raffles. For ($20) peanuts tri-state residents have a one in one-thousand opportunity to win a $15-25,000 THIESS original. Proceeds go in part to the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts program to fund $35,000 needed for the mural placed on The Arts Garage. The mural,"The Voice of Women In Art", was filmed as part of a tv show pilot and was also featured in Philadelphia Fringe Festival play. The Thiess Christian Company, LLC and Thiess Christian Miles are offering to work with tri-state theaters, theater companies/repretory groups, musicians, producers, filmakers, comedians, dance troupes,vocalist and performance related business owners with performance art stages to provide self-support fundraising plans for artist and organizations using Thiess art. (PRWEB) October 3, 2006 -- The city of Philadelphia is getting ready for a month of Thiess Christian Miles presentations since Thiess' shirt was worn by actor Activist Danny Glover when Glover introduced President Hugo Chavez at a news conference in Harlem, New York.
The "Arthiesst", who has begun meeting with the City of Philadelphia, Mural Arts Program with regards to providing her set design murals for raffle. The prestigeous mural painted on jute, was featured in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in a play at the Arts Garage. The same mural was filmed for a TV show pilot shot in the Arts Garage (which will air for the first time in the month of October) on Drexel University's cable station interview of Ola Solanke.
For a ($20) twenty dollar raffle ticket tri-state residents will have a one in (1000) one-thousand opportunity to win a mural market valued at $15-25,000 which THIESS hand-painted. Proceeds will go in part to the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Department specifically to the Community Mural Division's fund to provide the $35,000 needed for the mural which will be placed on Solanke's Arts Garage building.
Interested parties wanting to purchase raffle tickets in support the mural about Philadelphia jazz performers and musicians are invited to view the Thiess mural during the (POST) "Philadelphia Open Studio Tours" art exhibit, Saturday, October 7th from 12 noon until 8 pm and Sunday, October 8th, 2006 from 12 noon until 6 pm.
The Philadelphia Public Libraries will host Thiess Christian Miles teaching workshops. The workshops are free to the public for all age groups. Wednesday, October 4th at 4 pm, the Wyoming Branch of the library will provide the workshop entitled "Developing Your Illustrations For Cloth & Clothing". The hour and one half presentation will help citizens of "no artistic talent or training" develop their own images and designs for illustrating on clothing in this sampling from this global market t-shirt designer.
Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 at 6 pm the workshop will repeated at the Rodriguez Branch of the library.
There will be an artist reception on both POST show dates at the Arts Garage at 3 pm. Slides of Thiess Christian Miles paintings, t-shirts and designs over 250 images will be flashing on the cafe's first floor, amidst other artists showing on the second floor of the Arts Garage simultaneously exhibiting on the second floor as live musicians performing on the open stage.
Thiess will be on hand to personally meet artist interested in contracting vendor space in the Arts Garage and to meet with collectors, educators who use or will use her art website in the classroom and organizations and corporations who want to discuss fundraising using Thiess, or The THIESS Christian Company products to help Philadelphians.
"I need one thousand Philadelphians to stand with me to get this one mural up in a community screaming revitalize " said company spokesman, Ira Miles with a smile late Sunday. Thiess is willing to help revitalize, fund and collaborate creating business alliances as Solanke is also willing to help, revitalize and provide vending space in the Arts Garage to help people. Artist may come in and own their own productions. "The price is right, the location is close to downtown with parking and the building lay out is tight..real nice", Miles added.
Contracts are being offered through The Thiess Christian Company,LLC to New Jersey , Delaware and Pennsylvania venders in several different divisions, namely, performings arts/theater, music/musicians and vocalist, food vendors/food services and art gallery cafe division/retail handmade original items.
Musicians selling CD's and writer's selling their own books are not charged a fee from the Arts Garage once under contract. The mural representing the co-writers afro-centric roots and female voices used in the play "No MO Blues Black Woman" (written by Dr. Kimmika Williams-Witherspoon, Atty. Lois Moses and Henreitte Morgan) is just one of many cross-cultural depictions expressing our true thoughts, feelings, social -economic condition, unity and mutual concerns of human beings through the arts.
