Expands Into Dallas and Miami

Homeowner/Contractor web site continues aggressive growth as part of nationwide rollout., a web-based resource for homeowners searching for prescreened contractors and other home service professionals, announced today it is expanding into metro Dallas and Miami as part of the service’s response to consumer demand for locating quality local contractors.

“We’re excited about adding Dallas and Miami. Both have strong economies and a strong demand for home improvement, remodeling and repairs,” said CEO Mark Henninger. “They also represent our initial push into southern states. We expect they will generate a greater variety of home projects.”

He explained that while Minnesota homeowners are searching for contractors to handle their cold weather-themed projects in November, Florida homeowners will be looking for landscapers and pool contractors.

The site, located at, has been processing homeowner projects in Colorado since 2005 and in Minnesota since the start of 2006. A hallmark of the company has been the hands-on approach towards every project. “We know that when a homeowner submits a project to us—whether to repair a leaky faucet or do a total kitchen remodel—it’s important to them and they want the work done fast, affordably and right,” said Charles Greaves, VP of Business Development. “Our Client Services department works hard to ensure each homeowner is satisfied with us and our member service professionals.”

As Henninger added, “That’s why we made sure to ramp up our Client Services team as part of our push into Dallas and Miami.”

Growth for since its launch has been brisk. The site initially began as a service to help homeowners find prescreened contractors. “Our expertise has been in customer service and process management,” said Henninger. “So we knew we would be making significant upgrades to the site this year. We want to improve the process of locating, hiring and working with a service professional.”

He explained the concept of “dashboards” -— interfaces for contractors and homeowners that allow them to handle the bulk of their interactions, resulting in efficiencies and improved communications. “I had a homeowner recently tell me that by the time she met one of our member deck builders in person she felt as if they were good friends. That’s what we want to hear because it means we’re doing it right.”

In the markets that currently serves they’re seeing strong repeat visits. A quarter of homeowners who have used the service initially come back within weeks to submit additional projects.


Colorado-based advertises through network television, radio and Internet search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. The site also has affiliate relationships with major media partners in the areas it serves. Homeowners submit their projects for remodeling, repairs and improvements through the site for free. They can view detailed profiles, photos, ratings, licensing (if required) and then select up to three contractors to bid on their projects. Contractors support the site with membership fees and must meet strict eligibility requirements.
